Is that a banana in your pocket?
Since the New Boyz debuted their single “You’re a Jerk”, Jerking has kick-started a movement across the world with SoCal’s dance, music, and fashion flava. Known widely for their bright colors and form-fitting jeans, the unique fashion attire is the signature you first recognize. Fortunate for adaptive brands, this movement has projected some old ones back onto the store shelves and new ones into the fashion scene. Levis finds themselves among the leading labels in this trend. Sales of skinny jeans for American urban youth, especially from young males, have catapulted sales with – I’m almost positive – Levis selling 511s in numbers that they haven’t seen since the 501s. Skinny jeans now reign over a larger population than they did in the 70s, infused into the world of hip-hop, house, metro-trash, skateboarding, and surfing, to name a few. Not only have American urban youth succeeded in bringing the skinny jean into fashion, the sagging look still remains…in co-existence! May be now it’s just because their jeans are too skinny to pull up?
Back in the day, tight pants and crotch huggers were seen mostly on European/white American rock bands and disco kings.
…this is fashion a la Joie
